In 2014, Delta reaffirmed its commitment to its people-oriented culture by honoring the legacy of principal founder and first CEO Collett Everman Woolman by dedicating a new Boeing 737-900ER aircraft in his honor. This model, registration N827DN and ship 3827, represents this commemorative aircraft bearing C.E. Woolmans signature and credentials.

More than 700 Delta people – including employees, retirees, former executives and family members of C.E. Woolman – attended the event to celebrate what would have been Woolmans 125th birthday and remember his legacy that is foundational to the airline Delta is today.

This particular aircraft is also the first 737-900 to have the Delta name and widget painted on the belly of the fuselage.
