This model plane represents the America West Airlines 757-200 ship N904AW as it appeared in the special “Arizona Diamondbacks” livery. As the official airline of the Arizona Diamondbacks, the then fledgling baseball team, got its own theme plane featuring a baseball on the tail and elements of the team logo in May 1996. Two years before the team played its first major league game. The actual plane was repainted with the standard US Airways fleet colors in the winter of 2006. America West began operating 757s in its fleet in 1987 and at the time of it's merger with US Airways, in 2005, was operating 13 in their fleet.
