On March 23rd, 2022, Delta Air Lines took delivery of its first Airbus A321neo. Flight DAL9936 departed Airbus's facility in Hamburg, Germany, XFW around 4 PM, made a scheduled stop at Bangor Maine, and arrived at ATL just before 11 pm. 

The Pratt & Whitney GTF engines power Delta Air Lines' Airbus A31neo fleet. The engines offer up to 500 nautical miles (930 km; 580 mi) more range compared to previous models, allowing for extended flights. Additionally, they enhance fuel efficiency by approximately 16 % per passenger and reduced carbon emissions by 50 %. Although it will be used mostly for domestic routes, the aircraft will eventually be used to replace some long haul oceanic domestic routes and international routes as well.
