The Delta Spirit was dedicated to all Delta employees worldwide on February 12, 2021 for their resilience and indomitable spirit during the coronavirus pandemic. The Airbus A350 was officially named in a live-streamed virtual ceremony from the Delta TechOps facility in Atlanta, Georgia. It bears the slogan "Keep Climbing. Together." which reflects the spirit of Delta employees caring for and supporting each other. The original Spirit of Delta was a Boeing 767-200 that joined the fleet on December 15, 1982. Three Delta flight attendants spearheaded "Project 767" which raised $30 million to pay for the airplane through donations of employees, retirees, and friends. The B-767 Spirit of Delta retired from flying in 2006 and now resides at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta.
