SAS leaset to CV-990 fra Swissair fra 1962 til 1966. Flyet var kjent for å ha liten kapasitet, med 99 seter, og høye drivstoffkostnader. Flyet ble brukt på mellomdistanseruter i Europa, samt til Sør-Amerika.

Swissair and SAS signed a cooperation agreement in 1958, which involved SAS leasing two Coronados. The aircraft had low capacity and a high fuel consumption, although they featured the airline's highest cruise speed throughout history. They were used on the South American and some medium-haul European services. They were returned when the four-year lease ended.
