Denmark is one of several European Nations that have chosen to replace their F-16 fighters with the state-of-the-art F-35 Lightning stealth fighter jet. 27 are currently on order. The first six will remain at Luke Air Force Base in the U.S. for type conversion training. L-007, together with the three other F-35s were the first to reach Danish soil back in fall of 2023. Colors on F-35s are quite rare, most simply being painted in low-visibility grey markings. Denmark decided to tone down its colors a little, but still keep the red and light grey (instead of white) national markings to differentiate the aircraft a little from those of other nations when joining international operations.
