Established in 1984, Virgin Atlantic took off on its first flight using a used Boeing 747, flying from London-Gatwick to Newark. Cleverly utilizing catchy and modern marketing and public relations, the airline developed into UK’s second-largest long-haul airline. The first of currently four Airbus A330neos in the fleet, G-VJAZ, is fittingly named in honor of Billie Holiday, the legendary jazz vocalist.
